TV Endingen: EM-Support in Basel – A Hilarious Mishap and Lessons Learned

• Match tickets: Yeah, we got a little ahead of ourselves, thinking tickets would be easy to snag. Spoiler alert: They weren't. We ended up only getting tickets at a crazy inflated price, on the black market, from some dude who looked suspiciously like he was connected to the Swiss mafia (just kidding… mostly).
• Transportation: I already mentioned the minibus debacle, but seriously, research your transportation thoroughly. Trains or even flying might have been a smarter option, no?
• Accommodation: We booked a hostel, which was okay, but in retrospect? A hotel near the stadium would have been much better. Less travel stress, more time to enjoy the atmosphere.
• Communication: We didn't think about how different the communication options in Basel would be. My phone's internet was useless, and my attempts at speaking German got me lost, confused, and a little embarrassed.

Beyond the Basel Blunders: What We Did Right (eventually)

Despite all the chaos, we managed to salvage some parts of our experience. We found a fantastic sports bar showing the highlights. We discovered great food (Swiss cheese and chocolate, you guys! Don't even get me started!), and, despite arriving late, the atmosphere was still amazing.

Learning from our mistakes is what counts. We created a WhatsApp group for future trips and that helped a lot with coordination. We all pitched in for a better transport plan. For the next championship we have it all figured out: Flights are booked, hotel reservations are confirmed, and we even bought the tickets online.
