Unterland: Erster Schnee 2024/25 Fotos – Ein Wintermärchen im Südtirol

Hey Leute! Winter is coming – or rather, it came! Let's talk about the first snow in Unterland, Südtirol, for the 2024/25 season. I'm still buzzing from the experience, and I'm itching to share my photos and stories with you all. Seriously, the pics are amazing. I mean, picture-postcard perfect!

This year’s first snowfall in Unterland was, honestly, a bit of a surprise. I was totally expecting it later, probably closer to December. Remember last year? We barely got any snow until January! This year? Bam! Early November and the whole valley was transformed overnight. It was magical. Pure magic. I almost cried!

I’m not gonna lie, I almost missed it! I was so busy with work, completely swamped. I almost didn’t even check the weather forecast properly. Huge mistake. The next morning, I woke up to a breathtaking scene. The whole valley was covered in a thick blanket of fresh snow. It was like stepping into a fairytale. Think Frozen, but real life. Okay, maybe not quite as dramatic, but still pretty darn close.

I grabbed my camera – obviously – and practically sprinted outside. It was chilly, really freakin’ chilly, but honestly, the views were worth it. The light, the quiet… it was pure serenity. I took tons of photos. I mean, tons. I’m talking hundreds. I’m still sorting through them all.

I'll definitely share more pictures later. My Instagram is blowing up! The quality is amazing, especially compared to last year's. Last year was so dark. What a difference this year’s bright sunshine makes, right?

• Check the forecast religiously: Don't be like me. Seriously. Check the weather forecast frequently, especially if you're planning a snow-themed photoshoot.
• Golden Hour is key: Early morning or late afternoon light makes all the difference in your pictures. Trust me. The light will make the snow glow.
• Dress warmly: Layers, people! I cannot stress this enough. Hypothermia is no joke. Warm socks, gloves, the whole shebang. And don't forget a hat. I totally forgot a hat once, and it was awful.
• Experiment with angles: Get creative! Don't just take standard landscape shots. Get down low, try some close-ups of snowflakes, capture some amazing details. The possibilities are endless. You don’t have to take pictures from the same perspective as every other person!

Finding the right location for photos is important. You want a good backdrop! For stunning snow photos in Unterland, I recommend:

• The vineyards near Terlan: The snow-covered vines are a truly magical sight. Seriously, check it out, it's amazing. I've never seen anything like it.
• The trails around Schloss Katzenzungen: Amazing views, perfect for those epic panoramic shots. The castle itself looks pretty amazing in the snow.

Remember to respect nature and leave no trace behind! Take only pictures, leave only footprints. Okay, maybe not only footprints, but you get the idea.
