Zweiter Krampuslauf: Herausfordernder Parcours – Meine Erfahrungen und Tipps!
Hey Leute! Let's talk about my second Krampuslauf – man, was that a challenge! I thought the first one was tough, but this year? This year took the cake. I'm still recovering, honestly. My legs are screaming, and I swear I saw a Krampus in my dreams last night. But hey, it was an experience, right? And I learned a lot. So let's dive into this, shall we?
The Course: Brutal, but Beautiful
This wasn't your average Sunday stroll, folks. We're talking a challenging parcours with some seriously steep inclines, muddy sections that threatened to swallow my shoes whole (they almost did!), and enough twists and turns to make my head spin. I nearly face-planted at least three times – the mud was treacherous. This year's organizers definitely cranked up the difficulty – I'm pretty sure they added some extra hills just to torment us. 😂
The route itself was stunning, though. We ran through some really picturesque parts of the forest – I mean, breathtaking views, even when I was gasping for air. But, let me tell you, the beauty didn't make the uphill climbs any easier. I felt like I was climbing Mount Everest in my running shoes, especially towards the end. My lungs felt like they were going to explode!
My Biggest Mistake (and How to Avoid It!)
Okay, so, my biggest mistake? Underestimating the course. I didn't properly train for this level of intensity. I thought I could just wing it, you know? Big mistake. Huge. I paid the price. I was totally unprepared. I learned the hard way that proper training is key, especially for a challenging Krampuslauf route.
Pro Tip: Don't be a fool like me! Start training weeks – or even months – in advance. Focus on strength training, especially for your legs and core. You'll need it for those killer hills. Seriously, do some squats, lunges – and don't forget about cardio. It helps a ton!
Gear Up for Success!
Another lesson learned? Gear matters. I was wearing some old running shoes that were, shall we say, past their prime. They offered little to no ankle support. I need to buy better running shoes. This is the kind of race where a good pair of shoes makes all the difference. Seriously, proper running shoes with good ankle support are vital.
And don’t forget layers. You will likely start cold and then warm up once the race starts. This means that you will be sweating like crazy. It also means you will cool down quickly as you stop running, so bring a jacket or something to stay warm once it ends.
Hydration is Your Friend!
Hydration is crucial (I learned this the hard way). I didn't drink enough water before or during the race. This resulted in a killer headache and some serious fatigue. The mud and the tough course made it tougher than normal! Make sure you stay hydrated. Bring water with you, or at least make sure you have plenty to drink both before and after the race!
Overall? Worth It!
Despite the pain, the mud, and my near-death experiences (slightly exaggerated, but you get the point), the Krampuslauf was an incredible experience. The atmosphere was electric, the fellow runners were amazing, and crossing that finish line felt like a huge accomplishment. Next year? I'll be back. Better trained, better equipped, and ready to conquer that challenging parcours! Maybe I'll even try to beat my time.
So, there you have it – my brutally honest account of my second Krampuslauf. Learn from my mistakes, train hard, and have an awesome time! And remember, always wear shoes that will support your feet!
