Brauneck Bergbahn & Königscard: My Bavarian Adventure (and a Few Hiccups!)

Königscard: My Unexpected Best Friend (and a Lesson Learned)

Now, let's talk about the Königscard. This is a regional pass that gives you access to various attractions and transportation, and boy, am I glad I got one! It included the Brauneck Bergbahn, which was a massive money saver. I almost didn't get one, thinking, "Oh, I'll just pay for the cable car separately." Boy, was I wrong! The Königscard covered multiple other things that I ended up doing during my trip, like the train to the base of the mountain.

Pro Tip: Research what attractions are included before you buy your pass. Not all passes are created equal. Sometimes you may find it's cheaper to purchase certain activities individually. However, if you’re like me and want to do a bunch of stuff, the Königscard is your new best friend.

My One Big Mistake (and How You Can Avoid It)

Okay, here’s where I confess. I didn't check the weather forecast properly before heading up the mountain. I ended up getting caught in a sudden downpour. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely dampened my spirits (pun intended!).

Lesson learned: Always, always, always check the weather forecast before embarking on any outdoor adventure, especially mountain hikes. And pack accordingly! A waterproof jacket is your best friend in situations like this. It's also good to have a backup plan so that you are not stuck up on the mountain if there is an unexpected storm.
