Hey Leute! Let's talk about something that really tugged at my heartstrings – the donkey rescue in Henndorf. I mean, who doesn't love a happy ending, right? Especially when it involves adorable, long-eared creatures? This whole thing was a rollercoaster of emotions, let me tell you.

Apparently, there was a donkey – a sweet little thing named Haselnuss (Hazelnut) – stuck in a ditch near Henndorf. Seriously, a ditch! I immediately pictured this poor donkey, all legs and long ears, hopelessly mired in mud. It was a total emergency.

Haselnuss, after a thorough check-up by a vet, was thankfully unharmed, aside from a bit of mud and a healthy dose of fright. She was given fresh water, some treats and a warm, comfy place to spend the night. Seeing her relaxed and munching on hay after everything was complete was a huge relief. That was the most heartwarming moment.

But this incident really highlighted the importance of donkey-safe fencing. We later learned that the ditch was near a poorly maintained fence. The lesson here? Proper fencing and regular checks are essential to prevent similar accidents, not just for donkeys, but for all animals. If you have a farm, or keep animals outside, please check and reinforce your fences regularly.

It's also crucial to know who to contact in case of an emergency. Having the number of the local Tierheim, Feuerwehr, and a vet handy is a must! It was so lucky we had all that support. We need to be prepared.
